Hi George

I agree one should not take away Shredders book and that doing so handicaps
Shredder which is why I always play with Shredders book

Some have suggested to me I should not test books but I reply I test engines in
the environment they were meant to run in.

To me that means Shredder runs with shredders book , Fritz runs with Fritz book,
Junior with Juniors book etc

That includes endgame tablebases

The author went to the trouble to include tablebase support on an engine or gui
level so I include them

Its a total package. I am looking for the strongest playing combination

I do understand the philosphy and reasoning of those who perfer to test engines
with a very limited or general book and I can see its value in finding an engine
for analysis purposes but that is not my purpose

I am looking for a kick butt chess entity I can use on my pc

for analsis I prefer a multiplicity of engines

I also know Long matches are Shredder's forte

On a note I like to add a little personalization to my reports.

Tom
