Ag2005d-1 . 2005 GUI Shredder 8 (Lots of problems loading engines and books, and some games lost in the process. Due to my fault in the settings, Hiarcs has played without book. Next time I will go back to Fritz 8 GUI). 40/40 + 40/40 + 40 finish Spike 1.0 Mainz - Chess Tiger 15.0 1.5 - 4.5 +0/-3/=3 25.00% Spike 1.0 Mainz - Deep Shredder 9.1 UCI 1.0 - 5.0 +1/-5/=0 16.67% Spike 1.0 Mainz - Junior 9 4.0 - 2.0 +3/-1/=2 66.67% Spike 1.0 Mainz - Hiarcs 9 3.5 - 2.5 +3/-2/=1 58.33% Spike 1.0 Mainz - Ruffian 2.0.0 1.5 - 4.5 +1/-4/=1 25.00% Spike 1.0 Mainz - Toga II 1.0 3.0 - 3.0 +2/-2/=2 50.00% Spike 1.0 Mainz - Zappa 1.0 3.0 - 3.0 +2/-2/=2 50.00% Spike 1.0 Mainz - Fruit 2.1 3.0 - 3.0 +2/-2/=2 50.00% Although the test is not 'clean' because of the mentioned GUI problems, my feeling is that Spike 1.0 Mainz, at long term games, is one of the strongest amateur programmes. Despite its loses against CT 15, Deep Shhredder 9.1 and Ruffian 2.0.0., its performance against the strongs commercial Junior 9 and Hiarcs 9 -even with no book-, and also against Toga II and Fruit 2.1 is really impressive. Congratulations and thanks to its authors!. Tom.
