Since the Opening Book of Zappa 1.1 According to Anthony is bad here is his
statement:

"It should be noted that the book supplied here is based totally on GM games
with no human tuning and therefore quite bad."

I am Using the Mainbook of Harry Schnapp for both programs to make it uniform,
and to avoid giving the advantage to one program or the other.

My Impression is that both of these programs are very close in strength and only
with 1000 games minimum we will find out the truth. I have done long time
control with Spike versus Shredder Classic 1.3 and they also came very close at
the end of their match of 30 games. Spike 1.0 Mainz did NOT had a lucky match
when it won the Chess960 World Chess Championship at Mainz. It has improved
tremendously since the previous version.

PS: Not too many programs can beat Spike1.0 Mainz at a match of 30 or 40 games
at whatever time control you chose. First I was wrong when I thought that Spike
was simply very lucky to win the Chess960 WCCC at Mainz, but the free released
of Spike simply proved me wrong.
