I use different engines under Hiarcs9 package and I also use Shredder9 UCI Classic because there's a very convenient option called 'triple brain' when two different engines analyse the positions and the third one pick up the move which it rates as the best. Sometimes it's very useful when you can't be certain about which move to play because they are more or less good. I use Ruffian and Shredder engines in this option. I tried to install Zappa 1.1 as an UCI engine, but it doesn't house in Shredder Classic, although Couzzie writes it's an UCI engine. >I hope to achieve the GM norm there. >I am third board of Israel and you can follow the results of my tournament by >clicking on the following links(the draw that I did against germany still is not >updated in that table) > >http://www.iccf.com/ >tables&results >tournament tables index >Europe EUMSM >VI final > Wow! You're a tough player then. Much success to you in gaining the GM norm! >Here is my draw against siegfried kluve(Note that this game was played by snail >mail and I statred my games by snailmail because I understood that I have 60 >days for 10 moves also in snailmail because of misunderstanding but most of the >games were changed to normal mail and after finishing this game I have 8 games >by mail and 3 games by snailmail) > >In this game I used 35 days for the first 8 moves and only after getting a >warning(first loss on time in snailmail is not considered to be loss by the >rules) I played faster and I think that maybe 9.a4 was not good and after it I >cannot hope for more than a draw but on the other hand the german player is the >best player that I need to play based on rating and fast draw against strong >player can give me more time for the other games so I am not sure if it is a bad >result. > >[Event "Edited game"] >[Site "URI-AMD"] >[Date "2005.08.23"] >[Round "?"] >[White "Uri Blass"] >[Black "Siegfried Kluve"] >[Result "*"] >[PlyCount "35"] >[EventDate "2005.??.??"] > >1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. I never play closed or semi-closed openings, although a game may become closed, say, in Closed Sicilian which I have to play as Black sometimes when White doesn't want to play the sharp lines. So I always open with 1.e4, but I do play Nimzo-Indian and, naturally, have to play Catalan too. I don't think it's the best opening to be played but sometimes one has to restrict the Black's opportunities, working on trying a victory w/o much risk. Well, it was a good game on the whole. You did a good job forcing a draw. Although, I'd most probably play 9.Bg5 or 9.e5. Anyway, it was a good game. Well done!
