I think what many people realize is that EGTB only affect the program that doesn't have it. If both sides have it then obviously not much ELO difference will show. But if one side has them and the other doesn't then the difference would be more apparent. For example I think if Fruit had EGTB's, you would definetely see a good ELO move up. The fact that Fruit is able to perform well without EGTB is a testament to the power of the engine.
