I did not learn tscp code but comparing with book line can be slow if there are many book line and also may miss tranpositions tscp may be in book after 1.e4 e6 2.d4 but be out of book after 1.d4 e6 2.e4 if the second line is not in book. using hash mean that you do not have that problem and the problem that was described in a different post is also not result of using hash but of having a book of positions instead of book of pairs of position and move.
