Gunther, I came up against the same problem after buying the UCI version of Shredder 9. In fact I ended up by also buying the Chessbase version of Shredder 9, as that comes with a Shredder book which is in the .ctg format and can be used in the Fritz GUI for Chessbase matches. I raised this on an earlier thread and was advised by the author of the Shredder 9 UCI book (Sandro Necchi) that both books are basically the same. Conclusion is that if you want to play S9 on Chessbase, you have to obtain the .ctg version of the book (or use a general book). Mark
