I was personally in Glasgow 1984 when >Conchess (Plymate) was one of the winners. Jan Louwmann demonstrated a prototype >of Super Constellaton between the rounds. He showed us the first computer that >could win with knight and bishop against king. I have a Conchess Glasgow with >4mhz from that event. Both Conchess and Fidelity used secret speeds of the 6502 >in Glasgow but I believe it was around 7mhz 6502 and Fidelity had some hardware >problems with one of the computers. very interesting sad that the "Father" of chess computers is no longder with us > >A short check, I found results from Prestige in Ply from 1982, so it must have >been from 81 or 82. I guess you are referring to different versions of Elite. yes but the Prestige was outfitted with either the Glasgow or Budapest program of course there was also the possibilty to upgrade the Prestige by sending it back to Fidelity and have even one of the Mach programs installed Best Steve
