Ok, thanks again Guenther. Let me put a footnote to the whole debate or
misunderstanding. Just from logic.

If Erdo is now correcting the details of his server play then fine.

If Erdo formerly did NOT play in private rooms and tested in public, he knew
that spectators might be attracted and could be invited to post the games if
Zappa would lose. Where is the problem? If there is one then it's all on the
side of the ones who decided to play public games.

I didn't know the details before your explanation but now with it I must
conclude that also under this consideration people were unfair against Eduard.
He thought he could show to CCC interesting stuff. Sensational stuff because
it's not so frequently happening that Zappa is losing.

If Anthony or others were upset about these games (as they were posted here in
CCC) then they should have directly addressed ERDO but not Eduard! Could we say
at least this?

But I see a hidden point behind this all.

Even if Erdo played the tests in private rooms he had opponents. And at least
such opponents should have the game scores. Under such a perspective it could be
said that it's a test and no matter of the results, please let's keep this as
tests. In the longer run Erdo would see who is serious and who is just seeking
for the sensational loss of Zappa. This is all something what could be clarified
in our little scene. Next time perhaps person X would like to test say SHREDDER
X for Stefan under the same experimental conditions. Then Erdo or other
operators for Zappa wouldn't run to CC either if Shredder lost some games in a
test. So, after a while people get ranked after their seriousness and moral
standards.

But in case of Eduard, the mere insinuation of bad intentions is false if the
above wasn't mentioned at all.

Thanks for your details since I was on a very old state from times where people
could get incited to post games from pre-mature versions (as so called beta
testers) of programs and so basically violating the "contracts" for
beta-testers. All that certainly must be clarified in case of server play too.

In my eyes Erdo played rather carelessly these games (on playchess as far as I
know) and here in CCC his author/master himself showed surprise and directed his
anger against the messenger Eduard. This is a well-known 'don't do it' since the
old Greeks! Bashing of the messenger and NOT the source itself for the bad
message.

But thanks to your explanation I could now understand why at all the critics of
Eduard became angry. Could you please follow me by now accepting that Eduard is
innocent and that Erdo is the real source to blame? - Which wouldn't take away
the least from Erdo's own merits in relation to the successes of Zappa! I hope
that the affair could be clarified right now.

Again, best wishes for your Sunday,
Rolf
