It’s a little late in saying but congratulations to Anthony Cozzie on Zappas 11.5 performance in Reykjavik. I don’t think even shredder has achieved this little milestone in the past 10 years. The performances of Fruit and Zappa have been exceptional on desktop pc for the duration they’ve been known against top opposition. Furthermore, how do i install crafty on pocket pc? I extracted them from cab file but found no setup file. Is there one? if not, pls put link on here for crafty installation instructions. Moving on, why doesn’t Rebel 12 get the credibility it deserves for Ed Schroders contribution to computer chess? Kasparov and Kramniks draw death bouts with Deep Fritz and Junior overshadow Arthur Yusupov, Loek van Wely, John van der Wiel and Anands bouts with Rebel. Is it the case that a lower rated player doesn’t receive as much publicity in the computer/chess world or a bigger company like chessbase does over Lokasoft? Also, what is the quality of the Rebel 55 million positions EOC tree like? Is it comparable to Openings Encyclopaedia 2005 or Powerbooks 2005? If anyone has this, pls give feedback. Lastly, I briefly read some posts on teams playing programs. I find this idea very interesting and hope programmers/GM`s would take a liking to it. I see less drawbacks in this idea than an a lone individual playing a program. Also, why hasn’t Shredder played any top grandmasters like Topalov or Kramnik like Kasparov played X3D-Fritz in 2003? In 2003, Fritz made a number of errors regarding its king safety function v Kasparov before the bug was fixed the results could have been different. Also Deep Fritz in Bahrain played bf8?? Moving its bishop back to its original square. Shredder should be given a chance like the rest. The participants should receive purses still. If anyone knows the author of Shredder pls contact him regarding this. Perhaps Shredder should play Mickey Adams in an 8 game match as I thought Hydra is a step too far for any GM past /present.
