Subject: Collectors Corner : Why do you collect these machines?

All of the old dedicated machines are worthy of praise.

To collect every one of them, for most people,is not a reasonable task.
So firstly a collector of such machines,I think, must define what is most
 important for him.

In my case I prefer the larger wooden boards. It's just the touch and
aesthetics of the wooden board and pieces.
Secondly and very important they must be available for me look at and
admire and play against whenever I wish.Perhaps every day, perhaps once a
 month;whenever.

This means the machines must be permenently laid out for action.
So based on this the number of machine collected must be limited.

I have just played games against the following :
Mephisto VanCouv. Munchen & Exclusive boards.
 Fidelity Elite A/G 2265
Saitek Renaissance Brut Force & Module D++.

I lost all of the games but what fun! All of these machines are absolutely
top of the line.I really have no favorites.I must have them all.

But this is my judgement. The Renaissance board is the best of all due to the
squares LEDs which are so descrete compared to the others. It is almost
as if one were playing on a real chess board.
The Meph. Muchen,in this regard is the worst. The LED's seem to be so big
 in comparison to others.
