First of all, many thanks to Ed for offering this 10c improvement for free. I
bought all the existing 'Rebels' and appreciate very much such offering. This is
a good way to add value for your customers.

Going to my first feelings with the 10c, they are a bit contradictory:

- by one hand, after 17 minutes (in a Pentium II 4oo Mz. 256 megas Ram) the
program is not able to find a (relatively) easy mate in 11:

White g7, h7, Kg8 - Black Ke7, d7, c7,b7, Qf6

The answer is Qe6-e5-d5-d4-c4-c3-b3-b2-a2-a1-a8 mate.

I tried it unsuccessfully with strongest settings both with and without Tiger,
and with infinite mode and mate in 11 mode. The previous Rebel 10b solved this
mate in only 2 minutes 35 seconds.

- on the other hand, I 'feel' that the program is somewhat stronger than the
previous version. When you have operated manually lots of games at tournament
level, I thing you develop a kind of special 'sensitivity' to intuitively
evaluate the strength of a program. My only game with Rebel 10c by now is one
against CM6000, with Tiger, 40/2 hours, which finished in draw. Rebel(black) in
P.400 and CM6000(white) in a P.200.

I will post here my next experiences with Rebel 10c. Thanks again to Ed, and
receive my encouragement to proceed with this quality of service to your
customers.

Tomas.
