Ok, so I have the second edition.

There are two new chapters, chapter 9 "Belle" by Condon and Thompson (10 pages)
and chapter 10 "Using chess knowledge to reduce search" describing the program
PARADISE by David Wilkins (lots of LISP-like code, 32 pages).

There is also a new appendix where David Slate reports on "recent" comp-comp
games in the 1978-1981 timeframe (60+ pages).
