It depends on how you estimate Deep Blue's strength which is not known.
The current world champion however is Fritz.  Deep Blue came in 3rd at
the last world championships with only 3 decisive games out of 5 (one
of them was against Cilkchess.)   Fritz was playing on a pentium 90 and
is much better today in software AND hardware.  Of course the current Deep
Blue is better than the one that played there too but so is every other
program, and by a huge amount.

It is just my opinion, but 10 years is a huge amount of time in
computer terms.   I don't think you will have to wait nearly that
long to have a Deep Blue strength program sitting on your desktop.
