The point was that it is hard for you as a human to play at your best against a
computer if all your training are with a real board. In a normal (human-human)
game I always use all of my time ( 2 hour/40 moves) but when I play against a
computer, this could be either a dedicated or a program on a pc etc. I have a
hard time to even use half of my time. Only method to play against a computer I
have found is to play with a real board, here I use my time as in a normal game.
Since I have a DGT board I use this (with a DGT-clock), even when I play on ICC
(of course not the blitz/bullet games). I guess you could do with a normal
chessboard too, but you will miss the clock.

This shouldn't effect your thinking, so I guess (at least for me) it's a
psykologic thing.
