As far as I can see, 1.a5 wins too. What's your line refuting it?
Ex: 1.a5 Be3 (1...Bf2 2.a6 changes nothing) 2.a6 Bd4 (or any B move since
2...Ke7 loses to 3.Kg7) 3.Kh6 and White still wins by bringing the king out and
around to the queenside.
Still, even if one advances these moves, where 3.Kh6 is indeed the only winning
move, you're correct about the difficulty for engines.

3.h5 clearly throws away any chance of a win, yet I just saw Shredder 8 (don't
have v.9), Junior 9, DF8, and Hiarcs 9 all chooose it. I'll just note that Fruit
2.1 drops h5 for Kh6 after about 2 seconds.
