However intensive the beta testing has been, evaluation weaknesses (I don't like to call them "bugs") will be found in specific positions. Fritz is still Chessbase's flagship chess playing program, so these weaknesses will be fixed as soon as possible. I'm hoping that Fritz 9 will be stronger than Fritz 8, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's slightly weaker. (The old-timers in this forum will remember that Fritz 4 was weaker than Fritz 3). If Fritz 9 isn't a monster, Fritz 9.1 will be. Buy the program now and wait for the updates. Apart from which, the promised GUI changes should justify the purchase price.
