Hmmm... That definition is old and was revised by Ken Thompson. It should add,
"or be used as a bludgeoning weapon".
On his way to play an event in the USSR with his creation Belle, a machine that
could only play chess, he was stopped by very suspicious customs officers.
Despite his explanations, they insisted, asking whether it might not be used for
something else militarily. He replied that it might kill someone if dropped from
a high enough altitude.
