Ah KK, allow me to humbly admit that when I first entered RGCC I was
only a chess player with a chess program, and as such, a general know-nothing.
Almost fearful to announce my existence, I quietly downloaded the group's
headers and soaked up everything I could. The two biggest educators, essentially
for different reasons, would have to be you and Bob Hyatt. The completely
uninhibited willingness to discuss and explain what must seem appallingly
obvious to you has always been a source of admiration and a credit to your
generosity. As with all here, I can only wish you the best on this precarious
path you have been forced upon, but perhaps this will permit you to fulfill, no
matter how humbly, that secret dream you have always safeguarded in your heart:
to write a chess program! Yes, I suspect that although you may take a leave of
absence, and make only occasional appearances for a while, you will come back
with a renewed force inquiring at length about chess programming techniques.
Thus speaketh Nostrabertus!
