I am not sure yet however. Still looking at options... You can buy 4 400Gb IDE/ATA drives for $240 each, plus extra IDE/ATA controller for 4 devices for $25. $1k for ~1.5Tb. Use it all if you have a backup, or run software RAID. With RAID you'll still have more than 1Tb. No clever device controllers or drivers that can go wrong.
