Suppose that he is going to offer you to buy Zappa for 1,000,000$(probably 1,000,000$ is a small money for him). Are you going to say no to that offer? I think that maybe the best deal for programmers of strong programs is not to sell them to a lot of customers but to sell them to a single customer(the customer who agree to pay as much as possible). I think that from commercial point of view trying to sell top engines to a lot of people may be a mistake and it may be better to sell them only to a single customer so that customer can get advantage in correspondence games. I think that it may be a good idea also for SMK not to sell shredder10 to the general public and sell it only to a single customer. It is better to sell 1 copy for 100,000$ and not 2000 copies for 50$ when you need to give technical support and based on what I read from sandro about Shredder it seems that SMK does not sell significantly more than 2000 copies per year.
