Does anyone know why Fidelity went out of business? As far as I know, Fidelity
chess computers sold as well, and were just as strong as other makes. But were
they as reliable as other brands? I don't know. My first Fidelity was a CC7.
It started to make illegal moves within a week of buying it. I took it back to
the store where I bought it and the clerk acted like she was expecting me! The
CC7 was cheerfully exchanged and the replacememt works fine to this day.

My next Fidelity was an Excellence, (EP12). Three weeks before the warranty was
due to expire, it started acting crazy. The lights would start blinking at
random and it started making illegal moves, too. So off to the factory in
Florida it went. After five long weeks, I got my computer back. But....two
weeks later, the AC/Battery switch got stuck on the AC position. And stuck
hard. I dare not force it. It still works fine, but I can't use batteries!

warm regards
Mikey
