106.g3 creates the threat gxh4 gxh4 Qc3+ Kd6 (or Kb6) Qb4+ followed by Qxh4,
winning a pawn. After the simple reply 106...hxg3+, the white king captures to
g4 gaining a somewhat more active position. Maybe Shredder evaluates the king
activity in the endgame, which is a very important factor. That's why probably
106...Qd6 is indeed slightly better.
