Looking more closely at this game, it may not necessarily apply, but it is
excellent to analyze, as GK won in the endgame. As Peter Berger suggested, Black
playing O-O-O is best, allowing 18...b6 and 19...Kb7 to put his King in better
position for the endgame.
So, here's a test position. It's about 30 ply away to see that White is lost if
he plays 35.Bxc5. Does your engine avoid that move?

CM9_R1 waffles between Bxc5 and Be3, eventually settling on Be3, but I don't
think it truly understands why Bxc5 is bad -- at least not in a reasonable
amount of time.
