Possible soures of confusion might be - Do you have a final or beta version of XP-64? - Is that a fresh install, or an upgrade? - Did you have an earlier Beta/CTP version of VS2005 installed? The uninstall is known to leave files behind. I did a reinstall last week, when my trial version of Windows expired. Reformat, installed Windows XP x64, installed Visual Studio Beta 2. Worked fine!
