About the only "64 bit" programs you will find are those using "bitboards". Any program can run on a 64 bit machine, but they won't be taking advantage of the 64 bit words very frequently and see no particular advantage for the 64 bit mode other than the compiler will use the extra 8 registers when 64 bit mode is turned on.
