I'v been playing around with wine for a while.

I'm even running Arena 1.1 under Linux. It works quite well.
Under my 32Bit Linux machine (Suse 8.0) I did'nt find any major problems.
All engines I tested worked. I didn't do any speed comparison,
but I don't expect a big difference to the windows version.
Under my 64Bit machine (Opensuse 10.0) there is one problem with Arena.
In tournament mode it stops playing after the first game played. The simple
workaround is to let Arena restart after every game.

So even running 32Bit Windows chess engines / GUIs under 64Bit Linux is no major
problem.
