The terms of distribution do not forbid customers to install chest in chessbase as UCI engine. Based on my understanding the terms of distribution forbid chessbase to do things that every customer of chessbase with connection to the internet can do. If I understand correctly chessbase are allowed to give the customer instructions how to install chest inside the package but are not allowed to do it for him so if he has no connection to the internet he cannot do it. I think that if something is illogical then it is the terms of distribution unless the target is to make chest commercial but if the target is to make chest commercial then I see no reason of making it free for unlimited time for everyone with connection to the internet.
