I have confidence working with the dual processor system with my experience, 2
core.
I am concerned about building a 4 core system---I have concerns about which
program can handle 4 cores and what the return is in kns, how stable it would
be, heat issues, etc..
This 8 core system would cause me problems. I am not sure how many amps this
thing would draw, power supply, wattage, 120v or 220 volt. Noise? Room
temperature and ventilation requirements. Not sure if Windows Server software
runs the chess smp programs. Not sure how stable this sytem would be. Not sure
about power up and power down issues. Not sure how to set up the software for 8
cores, but this learning and the challenges of 8 cores would be fun.
