I'm very aware that German is a popular language, especially in CC. My point is
that the value of the board is quickly diluted if multiple langauges are
permitted, and if German and Spanish are OK, why not Polish, or Slovakian, or
Russian, or Chinese? How can you say German is ok, but other languages are not
OK, and rationally support that? How can the moderators do their job, with posts
they can't read?

Many German speakers also speak English - that's been certainly shown to be the
case on this forum. However, very few English speakers are fluent in German.

On any of the major German CC forums, they're encouraged to speak all the German
they like. Here, on an English CC forum, we reqest the same courtesy.

Since they speak English rather well, anyway, I really don't see that we're
asking them to do something hugely difficult. Seems rude to do otherwise,
frankly.
