>I am not aware of horrible license policies in the current mainstream chess >software market. > I was thinking more along the lines of MS and Win XP specifically where you have to go in loops just to do an update. >Of course the Fruit policy is not more *expensive* in principle, or "evil" or >you name it. *No one* claimed anything like that btw, so I don't understand your >need to post a "rant". But you might agree that it is clearly a bit more of a >hazzle . Guess my frustration is in that people are being so extreme that they aren't even buying it because of this. I could justify not buying something if it really limited your ability to use it, or was a real hastle. Though Spending a minute to generate a key and email it, which is so little to do, in order to help Fabian save or get more revenue seems like a bad reason to be upset with the product. The whole argument seems unbalanced to me. I'm done, I just wish Fabian the best; he has done a great job. I hope it's profitable and this whole issue can be resolved so that people are happy. -Josh P.S. I misworded it I guess... my original meaning was attacking his business plan or how he's selling Fruit. >I followed this discussion, but can't remember having read a single post >"attacking Fabian". And I actually wish him every possible success in the world >.
