Don't you think that it's likely that your copy protection will be cracked?  In
that case, pirates can still email the engine to each other.  What does your
copy protection do except inconvenience legitimate customers?

Even if you manage to do what no one has ever managed to do and come up with an
uncrackable copy protection scheme, will it cause any net gain in sales? I
believe that people who intend to pirate the software would be unlikely to pay
for it if pirating was impossible.  After all, they can easily get a copy of
Hiarcs, Fritz or Shredder with the copy protection broken.  Is Fruit really
going to be so much better that they will want to pay?

I understand the desire to make a fair return on your effort.  I don't
understand the logic that leads you to believe that your copy protection will
lead to more paying customers.
