Subject: Majestic Chess

Dear Computer Experts,

I ordered Majestic Chess from wholesalechess.com and it arrived yesterday. I
couldn't wait to start playing it!  Hahaha...it installed perfectly, it seems,
but when I clicked "play Majestic Chess," nothing happened, except the CD-ROM
drive spun and spun for about a minute and a half before it finally stopped.  I
tried ten more times to play the game with the same result.  I finally
uninstalled then reinstalled MC.  After about six more attempts MC finally came
on the screen.  A miracle!  I explored MC, (beautiful graphics!), and even got
crushed in a game.  Then I exited MC to see whether I could get back in.  I
couldn't.  So in uninstalled and reinstalled again.  No Majestic Chess.  I did
the same thing this morning.  No result.  My computer exceeds the recommended
system requirememts, by the way.  I even cleaned the laser lens in the CD drive.

This morning, I called support at Vivendi games and the support person told me
"your graphics and CD-ROM drivers need updating."  (That's funny, my computer
and Majestic Chess were made and/or put on the market the same year, 2003.)
Then the support person said there may be a way around my "outdated drivers."
He had me disable some start-up items.  No effect.  Then he had me disable the
CD drive's ability to copy.  No effect.  He had no more advice for me..

So, all you wise and knoweledgable computer people, can you help me get Majestic
Chess running?  Or should I try and get my money back?  Strange..I did get it to
run once!  I thank you all in advance..
