I think it is not just a question of processor power, but also one of knowledge.
I ran this briefly on a few of the top engines, and they all rejected Qxf5 in a
second or two between ply 6-8 at most. However, as an interesting contrast as
you had mentioned this engine, Ruffian 1.05 liked Qxf5 until ply 10 and took 25
seconds on my 2Ghz Athlon to reject it.
