Uri, if you had to look at a tree (vs. going back on a single line), something
might be wrong. I just did the suggested moves fast, and after:
[Event "?"]
[Site "?"]
[Date "2005.09.30"]
[Round "?"]
[White "?"]
[Black "?"]
[Result "*"]
[SetUp "1"]
[FEN "8/p3P3/rp6/kp6/1p4PK/1P6/1P5p/4r2R w - -"]
1. e8=N Rg1 2. Kh5 Rf1 3. g5 Rg1 4. Kh6 Rf1 5. g6 Rg1
6. Kh7 Rf1 7. g7 Rg1 8. Kh8 *
I got a mate score:
4N2K/p5P1/rp6/kp6/1p6/1P6/1P5p/6rR b - -

Now I again could go back rather fast (typically only one second for each half
move) and got:
8/p3P3/rp6/kp6/1p4PK/1P6/1P5p/4r2R w - -

12.Tg6 Tf1 13.Kh6 Tg1 14.Tg5 (531) -2147483
Took perhaps 2 minutes. Mainline seems correct until last shown move (Shredder
Classic can "only" display 27 half moves).
