in anand-adams, round 3 of the fide wch, anand uncorked the novelty 23. Qd2! according to chessbase, this was some home preparation of his which he did 7 years ago - and he remembered it! any engines to find this move (instead of the obvious Be3)? [D] r3rbk1/1b3p2/1q1p2pp/1p1P1N2/1np1P3/3n1NRP/1P3PP1/1BBQR1K1 w - - 2 23 adams cracked quickly under the pressure (see PGN in the end), perhaps Qd2 is just an interesting move which poses a lot of problems for black but in the end leads to a draw (with lines like 23...Nxe1 24. Nxe1 Ra1 25. Nxh6+ Bxh6 26. Qxh6 Re5 27. Bf4 Nxd5 28. Rxg6+ and perpetual) - i don't know. cheers martin
