My own winboard engine acts a little bit strange here. In its logfile I read this: setboard r4rk1/b7/8/8/8/8/B7/R3K2R w KQ - 0 1 check_rules: Black is mate error position.fen(...) analyse And then it continues to analyse the standard opening position because that is the default when setboard leads to an error. But the winboard GUI does not notice anything and shows the bad position and the opening analysis. What happens when I send an error message to winboard? Which and when? Harald
