Hi I wonder if someone out there with Rebel10 could check how long it takes
to find the best move in the following position 2r1r1k1/pp1bb2p/3pppp1/q6n/
4P1Q1/2N1BP1P/PPP1BP2/2KR2R1/ W...Bc5! ? On my pent mmx166 Rebel9 plays e4 e5
for 55s (0.88) but then shifts to Bc5 with a score of 1.07 which while better
still undervalues the position.Admittedly it does manage to eventually find
the more accurate score after a couple of moves. The Rebel10 download however
spends 2.47min finding Bc5 and even then evaluates it at 0.87 for some time
I cant believe this to be a true reflection of Rebel10's strength and would
appreciate feedback.Could people with other programmes test the position on
their machines and tell me how they fare?
thanks Allan
ps There is quite a nice bishop sac in the winning combination which I would
like to know is completely sound Here are the moves from the position.
1Bc5 BxB 2QxN g5 3Bxg5! pxB 4Rxg5 BxR 5QxB and mate soon follows.Black can
try 1... RxN but believe me it doesn't work. Black can refrain from 2... g5
but I cant see many realistic alternatives
