Dear Rick, The strength of Computer Chess programs is in their excellent understanding of time. Not clock time, as many engines appear very weak in this aspect, but tempi. Openings like the French and Kings Indian put much more emphasis on strategical understanding. The great Robert J. Fischer who has been said to have a great understanding of tempi, did somewhat poorly in these openings also. Angela
