You may want to tag a book position (e.g. the last book position played) with a
count of how many wins, losses, and draws were experienced.  If you do not know
the game outcome, then you cannot update your book data.

So someone might say, "Look at the score."
But it could be a loss on time.
Without the engine being informed of the formal result, you can get incorrect
results.
