I am of the belief that you should be able to buy the engine seperately and as a
secondary thought, that it should be able to be used in a GUI of your own
choice.

There is no real reason why this should not be so. Must everyone buy a "new" or
is that "old" GUI everytime an engine comes out by them?

It is mercinary to suppose that a customer who regularly buys from ChessBase
should have to pay full price for a lengthy repeatedly buggy GUI when there are
so many other options out there some of which are absolutely FREE.

If people have more money than brains, then they shall always be poor and
stupid.
