From his statements about computer chess I conclude he is in one of two camps.

1st He is fully aware of computer chess progress but arrogantly dismisses it and
never intends to prove his claim

Or

2nd He has not followed the progress of computer chess of late but as a chess
legend he is expected to know about all aspects of chess. So he spouts out
something he has heard third hand a while ago. Neither knowing nor caring about
computer chess.
I expect, as he gets older he concentrates his efforts on what he is interested
in.

Now as all (some!?) on this forum are interested in computer chess we naturally
take offence at the dismissal of our hobby and so put Karpov in the first
category.

However I suspect the latter is the case.

(Coming from someone who is getting older and choosing to ignore things I don’t
like!)

Regards

Clive
