Here it is, at the side of the keyboard, near my left hand, a book by Philidor called "AnĂ¡lisis del Juego de Ajedrez" (Analysis of Chess Game) published by a prestigious french editorial house in Paris, 1908. It was translated to spanish and have annotations and drawings by an old chilean chess player, Juan Dauvin. It is the only spanish edition ever made of this book, the one where Philidor taught the use of pawns. Diagrams are weird, with black pieces looking in inverse positions, head to the bottom. The book perspires history, old histories, the flavor of decades and decay. In fact, such an old book I am thinking in throwing it to trash bin. Savonarola Regards Fernando
