i am using windows XP and Pro Deo 1.1 and winboard2uci and e.g. s9 GUI and i
never had it hanging.

I guess it has to do with something else.

i have played many many many pro deo games with different setting. also on my
other machines with other OS and other GUI's i never had pro deo hanging.

i guess it is something else that makes your machine hanging.
