The SSDF rating list is calibrated against the ratings of Swedish chess players (not against the international ELO-ratings). Since 1991 our members have played very few games against humans. Usually it has been a chess computer like RISC 2500 which has played against players with ratings between 1400 and 2000, winning all games or drawing against one of the stronger players. It's very difficult or impossible to be allowed to play in strong tournaments in Sweden. So I don't expect the list to be recalibrated, although I agree that it is highly needed. Thoralf Karlsson
