Hey George, It's time to update yourself to Windows. First thing is that the default install of some Windows versions do not use command.com file. The file used is "cmd.exe", for instance, in Windows 2000. It has command com, but requires a special setting if you want to use it. And cmd.exe is better than DOS's command.com, anyway. imo. So to avoid all this tediousness, why not make a shortcut for your desktop, takes maybe 30 seconds. Then you make the file that runs whenever you click/double click on the shortcut. Very simple. Read up on it in your windows help file, and give it a go. I use them for running some old dos programs and games, and it works great. Dave
