Subject: A simple pawn endgame

This position was pointed out to me by Chandler Yergin who did some work on it .
It is well possible that it has been discussed at CCC before, as it is close to
a very famous one.

It is quite accessible for humans IMHO, but surprisingly difficult for some of
the engines that are well-known to rock in pawn endgames, like Yace and
Shredder. Fun starts when the engines go deep. It looks like one of the very few
pawn endgames that is difficult for engines without simply transposing into a
queen+ pawns endgame soon.

With backsolving it is easy to get convincing scores, but to me it is not clear
what makes it so hard to judge for engines from the starting position.

Have fun.

Peter
