That was my original idea when I started the project ;-) In the meantime, however, some parts have been optimized for MySQL, which makes porting a bit difficult. The main reason I chose MySQL is that it can be easily embedded into desktop applications. As a matter of fact, I wrote my own JDBC driver just for that purpose: mysql-je.sourceforge.net I'm afraid there's no great demand for a client/server solution. Who (except you ;-) would want to host such a server?
