Fruit 2.2 is certainly less compatible.

Fruit 2.1 runs perfectly on my SuSE 7.0, but 2.2 gives:

 user@linux:~/fruit_22 > ./fruit_22
 FATAL: kernel too old
 Segmentation fault

I didn't buy it and didn't intend to.

It looks they sacrificed compatibility for security.
