From the Example I gave and the one you refer to:
It shows the Analysis Engine has searched to a depth of 12 ply(= half moves
i.e. one move for each side), while extending some lines to 40 ply.
Your Analysis Module window.. as I noted will show how many legal moves there
are in any position, which of those legal moves is currented being examined,
and what the evaluation is.
Please.. start your engine and look at the window.
Also, to avoid further controversy, please ask Chessbase about this,
and how for analysis purposes what they consider as 1 ply. It is indeed
1 ply(= half moves i.e. one move for each side.
